Concept to CAD

• Creating concepts of machines to replace manual processes.
• Understand functional requirement.
• Divide and document current manual process into steps.
• Document average time required for each step in the process.
• Document average cost for existing process with respect to quantity and time.
• Costs include: floor space required, worker costs, managerial/supervision costs, damage during process, tools used/ and any other overheads noticed.
• Remove any bottle necks in existing process.
• Creating hand sketches of concept. Creating skeleton outline of concepts.
• Aesthetic and ergonomic planning.
• Creating rough layout of machine/plants etc.
• Creating initial cad model from sketches.
• Creating cad models from P&ID diagrams.
